Carrie Janette Tuttle

September 21, 1926 — March 17, 2013

Carrie Janette Tuttle, the daughter of Carl and Verta (Prentice) Birchard, was born September 21, 1926 in Gillett Grove, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Gillett Grove, where she received her education. Carrie married Melvin Tuttle on June 5, 1948 in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer, where she worked Swift & Company, National Spencer and Mean's Laundry Service for several years, until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Spencer. She passed away at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the age of 86. Carrie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin in 1981; one daughter, Barbara Tuttle; two brothers: Ralph and Ronald and five sisters: Cecile Noteboom, Carol Williams, Ruby Hemmingson, Rose McGuire and Ruth Rupert. Left to cherish her memory are one son, Brad and his wife, Sue of Spencer; 2 granddaughters; one step granddaughter; 2 great grandchildren; one brother, Bill Birchard of Spencer; other relatives and friends.

Public Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be held from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
