Catherine Margaret Peters

Catharine 'Kate' M. Peters, 95, of Kenyon, Minn., formerly of Sutherland, passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at the Kenyon Sunset Home. Kate was born Oct. 3, 1913 in Sutherland the daughter of William and Catharina (Feddersen) Peters. Catharine graduated from Sutherland High School. She worked for the West Iowa Telephone Company as an operator and later as office manager, retiring after more than 30 years of service. She was a lifelong resident of Sutherland until moving to the Kenyon Sunset Home a year ago. Catharine was a member of the Federated Women's Club and the American Legion Auxiliary in Sutherland. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arnold Peters; and sister, Anna McGreevey. Kate is survived by her brother, Don Peters of Larrabee; and nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Faribault Area Hospice, Kenyon Sunset Home Auxiliary or Kenyon Sunset Home Chaplain Fund. Michaelson Funeral Homes, Inc. of Kenyon, Minn. is in charge of arrangements. Warner Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
