Charles William Anderson, was born on November 7, 1955, in Spencer, IA to Reuben and Helen (Salton) Anderson. He attended grade school in Webb, IA and graduated from South Clay in Gillett Grove, IA. His time in high school was spent in FFA showing hogs, and finding any way to skip and work on the farm. After graduating in 1975, he joined his father on the family farm raising hogs, corn and soybeans.
On August 25, 1990 he married Marilyn Goldhorn of Sanborn, IA. To this union one son was born, Matthew. Charles was a very loving and caring father. Making time to attend his son’s activities were always a priority to him even if it meant shutting down the combine or tractor early for the day. Charles was an avid baseball fan cheering on the Minnesota Twins through the good years and the bad. He attended many games and made sure he could find a game to listen to or watch. As a farmer he enjoyed taking care of the land. In 2013 Matthew joined him in the farming operation and was able to share his passion for the farming lifestyle. Becoming a Grandpa to Charlie and Robert was his pride and joy.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents. Reuben and Helen Anderson, his grandparents, parents-in-law Ben and Lovella Goldhorn, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janice and Bryant Ewert, nephew Benjamin Goldhorn.
Charles is survived by his wife of 33 years, Marilyn, son Matthew and Megan (Mitchell) Anderson of Webb, grandsons, Charlie and Robert Anderson of Webb, sister Nancy (Doug) Santen of Denver, CO, sister in laws Carla (John) Carconcea of Sanborn, IA, Ronda (Art) Laubach of Grinnell, IA, nieces Amy Ewert of Garner, IA, Brianna Laubach of Windsor Heights, IA, Kristina (BJ) Layman of Denver, CO and many other friends and relatives.
