Charles "Chuck" Duane Plautz

Charles Duane Plautz, the son of Virgil and Betty (Birchard) Plautz was born on July 22, 1952 in Spencer, IA. He was raised and received his early education here, graduating from Spencer, High School in 1971. Following graduation, he worked at H&N Chevrolet as an autobody repairman. He also worked at Parr Sanitation, Tyson Foods in Storm Lake.

     On June 4, 1983, Chuck married Ronda Roberts in Laurens, IA. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Spencer. He was employed by Fleming Foods as a truck driver for eleven years. He then worked for Merrill Company, where he worked in the warehouse and also drove truck.

     He was a member of the First Congregational Church. He liked to collect Diecast cars, trucks and semi’s.  Chuck liked to have fun by going to casino’s and do a little gambling. He moved to Council Bluffs in April of this year to be closer to his daughter.

     Chuck passed away on September 15, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 66 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Virgil and his nephew, Heath Plautz.

     Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ronda of Council Bluffs, IA; his son, Jody Justin of McHenry, IL; his daughter, Tara Vogel (Chris) of Omaha, NE; his grandchildren: Ariana and Christopher Justin, Malachi Vogel and Amira Mouw; his nephew, Hal Plautz; other relatives and friends.
