Charles William Huberg

Charles William Huberg, the son of Hjelmer and Dorothy Zieman Huberg, was born October 4, 1935 on the family farm outside of Royal. He grew up on that farm and received his education from Royal High School. Following graduation, Charles drove truck and farmed with his dad. On June 5, 1955, Charles married Loueen Mohr at the First English Lutheran Church in Spencer, IA. Following their marriage, they purchased the farm from Charles's grandfather, Hans Huberg. Charles loved farming and spending time on the farm. He was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, serving as president of the church and on several committees. Charles cherished fishing trips to Montana, along with many other family trips they took. He also enjoyed many years of ball games and activities watching his children and grandchildren. Charles passed away on November 15, 2016 at St. Luke's Lutheran Home in Spencer at the age of 81. He is preceded in death by his father, Hjelmer, daughter-in-law, Cheryl and grandson, Justin. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Loueen of Royal and his mother, Dorothy of Spencer; children: Greg Huberg (Tina) of Potomac, MT., Gary Huberg (Nancy) of Sioux Rapids, IA, Lori Larson (Jerry) of Spencer, and Amy Holtz (David) of Royal, IA. 7 grandchildren: Amber, Heath, Caleb, Mattie, Emma, Ethan and Kate, 8 great grandchildren; sister, Louise Goode (Bob) of Conway, TX; brother, Roger Huberg (Connie) of Royal, IA; other relatives and friends.
