Charlotte A. Morris, the daughter of Frederick and Maude (Gifford) Collenburg was born January 2, 1922, in Des Moines, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Des Moines where she attended school and graduated from East Des Moines High School in January of 1939. She attended Waldorf College in 1940 - 1941 and later returned to school and on January 26, 1969, graduated Summa Cum Laude and received a Business Education Degree from Buena Vista University. She continued her education there, taking required courses to maintain her teaching certificate.
On November 22, 1945, Charlotte was united in marriage to Lewis W. Morris Jr. in Davenport, Iowa. Following their marriage, the couple lived 57 years on their farm in Linn Grove, IA. She moved to Peterson, IA for three years and then to Countryside Estates nursing home in Cherokee for 2 � years.
With great pride and enthusiasm, Charlotte taught business, English, and English literature at South Clay High School in Gillett Grove, IA as well as 50+ years as an antique dealer throughout western Iowa and southern Minnesota. Besides the love of antiques, the buying and the selling, and her many antique dealer friends, she really enjoyed seeing many of her former student at her antique booth each year at the Clay County Fair.
Charlotte was active in the B.V.F.C. serving as President, the Linn Grove Women's Federated Club, Quester's (Antique and Collectibles Club, IA Chapter), the Linn Grove Library, Bridge Club, Cub Scout Den Mother, and a Linn Grove 4-H leader, she was also an active member of the Democratic Party.
On February 28, 2009, Charlotte passed away at Country Side Estates in Cherokee, IA, at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lewis of 55 years; her brothers: Wally and Robert Collenburg; her sister, Grace Anderson and her stepbrothers: John and Herb Cliff.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Lewis W. Morris III and his wife, Susan Lois of Underhill, VT; her daughter, Elizabeth Morris Cathcart of Linn Grove, IA; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Morris and his wife, Shaun, Kara Shannon, Mecal Shannon and Carly Shannon; her one great-grandchild, Ryen Morris; other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Friday, March 6, 2009, at First Congregational Church in Peterson, Iowa
