Cheryl Lee Stanley

Cheryl Lee Stanley, the daughter of Ralph and Francis (Mauer) Hepworth, was born on March 23, 1944 in Spencer, Iowa. She spent her youth on the family farm just west of Royal and graduated from Royal Consolidated High School. She was active in 4-H, MYF, girls basketball and in her spare time she could always be found with her beloved farm cats. Cheryl married Raymond Stanley of Emmetsburg, IA in 1962. Following their marriage, Cheryl worked in the office at the Emmetsburg Medical Clinic for 5 years. Cheryl became a stay at home mom with the birth of her first son in 1967 and then another son in 1974. In addition to caring for her two boys, Cheryl spent countless hours establishing and building Stanley Propane with her husband, Ray. In 1987, Cheryl moved to Spencer where she lived until her passing. Cheryl passed away on March 23, 2014 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 70. She was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Brent Stanley and his wife, Wendy of Spencer, IA and their two children; Jason Stanley of Syracuse, NE and his wife, Trisha and their two children; one brother, Clifford Hepworth and his wife Sandra, of Royal, IA; two nieces, one nephew other relatives and friends.
