'Chevy' Evans

Scott Lynn 'Chevy' Evans, the son of Fred and Shirley (Kriens) Evans, was born on September 16, 1963, in Minneapolis, MN. His family moved to Dumont, IA and that's where he attended school. After school he worked for his dad at his company, Nu Modern Resurfacing, where they resurfaced bowling alleys. In 1993 he moved to Hospers, IA where he worked for Den Hartog Industries. While living in Hospers, he was involved in a band, playing the drums, in Spencer called, 7-2-9. After a few years of living around the Spencer area, he moved here in 1997, so he could focus more on managing his band. He worked at various places around Spencer before starting with State Steel as a truck driver in 2007. Chevy was very dedicated to his music, his whole life revolved around it. He also loved to spend time with his family and grandkids. He enjoyed drawing with his niece. He also loved animals especially his dogs: Lester and Zero. Chevy passed away on August 19, 2012, at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 48. He was preceded in death by his dog, Rhythm. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Derik Evans of Charles City, IA and his son, Maddon; daughter, Ashley Evans of Charles City, IA and her daughter, Kira; his fianc�, Lynne Holstad of Spencer, IA; stepson, Nathan Glander of Spencer, IA; stepdaughter, Brandy Napier of Cherokee, IA; his parents, Fred and Shirley Evans of Dumont, IA; two brothers: Marty Evans (Julie) of Shellsburg, IA and Randy Evans (Jo) of Charles City, IA; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Friday, August 24, 2012, at Faith Lutheran Church in Spencer.

Visitation will begin after 12noon on Thursday with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M., Thursday evening at the Warner Funeral Home.
