The Honorable Christopher Adam Kepler,
The only son of Donald Albert Kepler and Eleanor Wanda (Morisky), Born
July 10, 1949, Spencer, Iowa. Died September 3, 2006, in Mexico City, D. F.
Christopher Adam Kepler is survived by his cousins, Dick Long, of Milford,
Iowa, and Sister Lois Morisky, of Lake Oswego, OR. Chris graduated from the University of Iowa, and received his Juris Doctor from the Hamlin School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, with post graduate and professional studies at Harvard University and the National Judicial College of the University of Nevada at Reno. He was awarded a Doctorate Honororis Causa, an Honorary Doctor of Laws, from the Mexican Academy of International Law. He practiced and taught law in Mexico City for several years before moving to Houston in 1980,
settling in Dallas in 1983. Prior to establishing a private law practice in Dallas he served on the bench for several years as a municipal judge in Muenster, Texas, and as a Dallas County tax court master. He served three years as a Court Master, and as a Master in Chancery in complex ligitigation. Judge Kepler later entered private law practice. He was instrumental in helping establish the Texas Chapter of the Mexican Academy of International Law in 1988/89 to the early 90's. Judge Kepler was invested as a Knight of Magisterial Grace in the Mexican Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, an Officer in the Most Venerable Order of St. John, a Cavalleri in the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus, Knight Familiar of the Teutonic Order, a Knight of Merit with Star of the
Sacred and Military Constantinian Order of St. George, a Knight Grand
Cross of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre, Judge Kepler held the Grand Cross
of the Mexican Order of Law Peace and Culture, and of the Order Polonia Restituta
Order, and was an active member of the Maryland Society of the
Cincinnati, the Sons of the American Revolution, the Society of Colonial
Wars, the Society of the War of 1812, the Sons of the Republic of Texas, the
Aztec Club of 1847, the Military Order of the Loyal Legion, the Sons of Union
Veterans, and the St. Nicholas Society of the City of New York. ans a former
member of the Texas Ranger Association Chris was a scholar, historian and genealogist.....and he was very helpful to many persons in assisting them
in the application processes with various hereditary societies. Judge Kepler was an
old school Catholic gentleman with a devotion to the Tridentine Mass
as celebrated by the Priests of the Fraternity of St. Peter.
Memorials may be made to any of the above mentioned orders or societies.
SERVICES
A Memorial Mass will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Mount Carmel Chapel at 600 Flowers in Dallas, Texas
Graveside Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 30, 2006 at Calvary Cemetery in Rural Milford, Iowa
