Clara Leona Hagedorn

Clara L. Hagedorn, the daughter of John and Pearl Sylvester Gilmore, was born September 18, 1914, in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. She received her early education and graduated from the Rossie High School. Clara continued her education at Mankato State and later graduated from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa. Clara married Donald G. Hagedorn on March 5, 1937, in Royal, Iowa. Following their marriage, they made their home on a farm near Royal. For 45 years, Clara taught the 4th grade in Royal. She was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal where she taught Sunday School. She was also active in the N.E.A. and the I.S.E.A. Mrs. Hagedorn passed away on March 31, 2008, at the Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald on August 23, 1966; one brother, Dean Gilmore and two sisters: Thelma Dumkrieger and Beulah McKibben. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Stabe and her husband, Ken of Granite Bay, CA; 5 grandchildren: Justin & Christine Stabe, Michelle & Will Derryberry, Sara Stabe, Mark & Lauren Stabe, and Jaimee & Andy Langeland; 7 great grandchildren; one brother, Arlo Gilmore of Sioux Rapids, IA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, Iowa.
