Connie Kay Sams

Connie Kay Sams, the daughter of John Wesley and Alma Hallcock Fitzloff, was born June 8, 1944, in Spencer, Iowa. She received her early education from Sioux Township #8 Country School and graduated from Spencer High School in 1961. She then continued her education at Stewarts School of Cosmetology and graduated in 1962. Following her schooling, Connie worked at Longhouse Residence, Carroll's Bakery both of Spencer, Cindi's Fast Food and Beef Country Steak House both of Albert City and Hope Haven. Most recently, Burger King of Spencer where she has been employed for the past 17 years. While working at Burger King, Connie won a uniform design contest. She also had "Connie's Cakes" which she was well known for. She was a member of the First Christian Church. In her spare time, Connie was a Girl Scout Leader, enjoyed ceramics, sewing, crafts and most of all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. On May 5, 2006, Connie passed away at her home in Spencer at the age of 61. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Larry Fitzloff. She is survived by her children: Angie Lashbrook of Sioux City, IA; Lisa Clark and her husband, Tom of Spencer, IA and Matt Sams and his fianc�, Michelle of Sioux City, IA; 5 grandchildren: Matthew, Robert, Jonathan, Stephanie and Cassidy; step grandchildren: Dorian and Carissa; one brother, Ronnie Fitzloff and his special friend, Roberta Cate of Spencer, IA; one sister, Cindy Williams and her husband, Mike of Spencer, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at the First Christian Church in Spencer
