Connie Severson

November 29, 1945 — September 20, 2010

Connie Kay (Williamson) Severson, the daughter of Gene and Peanuts Williamson, was born on November 29, 1945 in Spencer, IA. Her childhood years were spent in the Ruthven and Spencer area, where she received her early education and graduated from Ruthven High School in 1964. On October 24, 1964, she married Dave Severson in Ruthven, IA. Once married, they moved to Smyrna, TN where Dave was stationed in the Air Force. After Dave was discharged from the service in 1968, they moved to Jackson, MN and six months later Connie and Dave made Spencer their permanent home. While in Spencer, Connie worked for Spencer Municipal Utilities, Johnson Elementary School and finished her career with Clay County Clerk of Court Office. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and assisted with various projects within the church. Connie had a love of travel and really enjoyed the past three winters in Texas. During her spare time she loved to read, walk, tend to her flowers, and spend time with her many friends. Connie was especially known for making friends wherever she went as well as her gift of "gab". However, Connie's favorite time was time spent with her precious grandchildren, children and husband. Connie passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, September 20, 2010 at Rochester Methodist Hospital at the age of 64. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Bertha Williamson, Francis Eaton and Pete Mason and brother Ron Williamson. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dave Severson of Spencer, IA; children Deb Michurski and husband Denny of Buffalo, MN, Mike Severson and wife Theresa of Brooklyn Park, MN; parents Gene and Peanuts Williamson of Ruthven, IA; sister Linda Hansen (Dar) of Ruthven, IA; brother Rich Williamson (Julie) of Ruthven, IA; grandchildren Hannah, Alexia, Christopher and Andrew; Honorary parents Loren and Dorothy Reed, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Methodist Hospital that cared for Connie in such a loving and caring manner!
