Curtis Dale Bobolz

Curtis Dale Bobolz, the son of Ernest and Lucy Ehlers Bobolz, was born January 27, 1927, in Meriden, IA. Curt was baptized on March 20, 1927, at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland, Iowa and confirmed on May 12, 1940. He received his early education at the Liberty Township School in Calumet and graduated valedictorian from Sutherland High School. Curt joined the Army and served his country during WWII and the Korean Conflict. On June 3, 1956, Curt married Mary Ann Petersen in Hartley, Iowa. Following their marriage, Curt and Mary made their home in Hartley. Curt owned a construction company with a partner for 22 years until retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where he served on the Finance Committee as secretary for 4 years, was an Elder for 8 years and also served on the Building Committee for the latest addition. He was also a long time member of the choir at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Curt is a lifetime member of the Chamber of Commerce in Hartley. Curt passed away on September 17, 2009, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley at the age of 82. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Leon Bobolz and two brothers-in-law: Dale Lux and Ray Dieterman. He is survived by his wife, Mary of Hartley; two sons and their wives: Roger and Roxanne Bobolz of Sergeant Bluff, IA and David and Simone Bobolz of Aurora, CO; two grandsons: Cody Bobolz and Justin Johnson; one brother, Gale Bobolz and his wife, Carol of Sioux City, IA; three sisters: Darlene Lux of Hartley, IA, Janet and Rodney Thomsen of Everly, IA, Linda and Larry Tewes of Greenville, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 19, 2009, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hartley.
