Dale Arthur Anderson

Dale Arthur Anderson, the son of Joe and Ruth (Johnson) Anderson was born on August 6, 1942, in Cherokee, IA. He was the ninth child of nine children. He received his early education in Meriden and graduated from Larrabee High School. After graduation, he entered into the military on June 9, 1960, serving in the U.S. Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Longbeach, the first nuclear powered ship, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was honorably discharged on August 2, 1963. Dale Married Carolyn Larson on July 10, 1965, in Jackson, MN. The couple lived in Sioux City and then moving to Spencer in 1978. Dale worked at Burroughs Corporation which later became Unisys, retiring after 30 years. He then worked for Bayliner Boats in Pipestone, MN and United Suppliers until retiring again. He passed away on March 14, 2016, at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 73, He was preceded in death by his parents; one older brother who died in infancy, and brother, Robert. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Carolyn of Spencer; his children: Anthony of Jefferson, SD, Mark of Kansas City, KS, Alesia of Spencer, IA, and Angela of Springfield, MO; his grandchildren: Byron, Jeff, Christian, David, Krystal, Stormy and Jessica; one great-grandson, Zidane; his brothers: Verland, Duane (Joyce) and Jim; his sisters: Millette, Delores and Evelyn; his brothers-in-law: Merle Larson and LeRoy (Shirley) Larson; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be 1:00P.M., Thursday, March 17 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
