Dale John Clark, the son of Lyal Sr. and Cecil Thorton Clark was born May 10, 1937 in Emmetsburg, IA. His childhood years were spent in the Emmetsburg area where he graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1955.
Dale enjoyed fishing, competitive muzzleloader shooting, and competing in Jitterbug dance contests around the area. He served 13 years with the Iowa National Guard. He worked for Winkler Printing, Bowman Business Supply, Standard Printing, Spencer Printing, Heartland Press, Daily Reporter, and was a half owner of Northwest Printing. He worked for Shopper's Supply until his retirement.
Dale passed away Monday, January 28, at Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, IA, at the age of 75. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jody; 2 sons, John and Matt Clark; 2 brothers, Lyal Jr. and Bob Clark; and 3 brothers-in-law, Kendall, Sam and Chuck Meyer.
Left to cherish his memory are his son Mark Clark of Emmetsburg, IA; 3 sisters, Cecil Ann (Marvin) Bishop of Medical Lake, WA, Irene Kelly of Yuba City, CA, and Mary Griffith of Grand Prairie, TX; 5 sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Clark of Carter Lake, IA, Donna Bettencourt, Nancy (Larry) Leppert, Rosamary Meyer, and Susan Meyer; 2 brothers-in-law, Randy and Donnie Meyer; many nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. A niece, Penny Clark (Van Alst) and close friend Mike Craig watched over Dale during his last years.
SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 5, at the Warner Funeral Chapel in Spencer.
