Darlene Louise DeLaughter, the daughter of William Ludlow Scott and Della Mae Sarver, was born November 12, 1928 in Sioux City, IA. Beloved mother, loving wife, loving grama and great grama. Darlene worked with her husband, Bob as retail owners in fabrics for many years. She loved camping, boating and anything around water, she also loved to dance. Darlene was an accomplished Mary Kay Consultant who loved her family and friends, people in general. She always had a smile on her face and loved to give hugs.
Darlene passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert DeLaughter; siblings: William (Bill) Scott; Waneta M. Scott (McClarty), Walter E Scott, Wanda Scott, twin brothers Wayne Scott and Darrell Scott and Grandson, Ryan DeLaughter.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Claudette (DeLaughter) Barr, David (Diane) DeLaughter, Cheryl DeLaughter; grandchildren: Paul (Stacey) Rydell, John (Jessi) Rydell, Rich (Veronica) Doede, Bob (Jill) Duitsman, Lance (Tiffany) Duitsman, Shandon Wolf, Traci (Dusty) DeLaughter Feuerbach, Katie (Jordan) DeLaughter Kalisek and Garrett Moore; great grandchildren: Artemis Rydell, Isabelle (Cameron) Rydell Hatfield, Kaden and Karsen Rydell, Emersyn Gilman, Jordan (Makayla) Lechleitner, Quinton Crouch, Jasmine Doede, Jake Duitsman, Myah Duitsman, Brianna Gotto, Lexi Gotto, Winter Wolf, Nash Feuerbach and other close family and friends.
Private Family Burial will take place and a come and go Celebration of Life will be held on November 16, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 at the Good News Community Church, 1010 Julia Street - Okoboji, IA.
