Darlene Netsch

Darlene Netsch, the daughter of Albert and Mildred (Damery) Netsch was born March 4, 1924, in rural Harrison County near Woodbine, Iowa. It was there she received her early education, graduating from Woodbine High School. She received her B.A. degree from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa. She earned a Master's degree from the University of South Dakota at Vermillion, South Dakota. Darlene taught in rural Harrison County, Modale, Onawa, Storm Lake and Jefferson before coming to teach in Spencer in 1955. She also worked in Omaha for four years. Darlene was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Woodbine and attended First Baptist Church in Spencer for 51 years. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, and the Federated Women's Club. Her volunteer activities included Christian Women's Club in which she was a very active member, and also worked with Hospice and Spencer Hospital Auxiliary. On October 8, 2006, Darlene passed away at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by several cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Spencer

VISITATION
Public visitation will begin at Noon on Tuesday, with close friends present from 6:00-7:00 Tuesday night at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
