Darlo Julious 'Al' Albers

September 17, 1926 — May 14, 2014

Al Albers, the son of Jesse and Melva (Blaue) Albers, was born September 17, 1926 in O'Brien County, IA. He grew up on a farm near Primghar and received his education at Gaza Consolidated School. Al was married twice and had three children. He lived in various locations in North Dakota, Minnesota and Northwest Iowa, where he spent his entire career in sales. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. Throughout the years, Al was active in Fast Pitch Softball and Baseball leagues and was inducted into the Fast Pitch Hall of Fame in North Dakota in 1983. He passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the age of 87. Al was preceded in death by his parents; both wives, Margaret Strampe and Donna Hamrick and his son, Marv Amick. Left to cherish his memory are a son, Mike Albers and his wife, Sandy of Omaha, NE; one daughter, Diane and her husband, Dick Allen of Spencer, IA; one sister, Bea Wede of Peterson, IA; five grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

INTERMENT
North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery Spencer, Iowa A private family burial will be held prior to the memorial services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established by the family. A lunch and time of fellowship will be held immediately following the services at the BenTena Room located at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
