Darrell Eugene Woods

Darrell Eugene Woods, the son of Dale and Esther (Angle) Woods, was born May 8, 1941, in Britt, Iowa.  His childhood years were spent in Britt, France, and Germany where he received his education.  His family moved to America and settled in Spencer, Iowa, in 1962.

    Darrell married Linda Bowlin on January 12, 1969, in Spencer.  Throughout their married life, they lived in Spencer where he worked for Shine Brothers for 27 years until his retirement.  Linda passed away on March 23, 1993.

    Darrell married Barbara (Karl) Long on December 14, 2002, in Spencer, Iowa.  Following their marriage, they continued to live in Spencer where Darrell enjoyed fishing. He was member of the Moose Lodge in Spencer.   

    Darrell passed away at the Spencer Hospital on July 25, 2019, at the age of 78.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda in 1993; his daughter, Carol on June 4, 1991; one sister, Patty Woods; one brother, Charles Woods; and one nephew, Tim Woods.

     Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara of Spencer; two sons, Darrell Jr. (Angie) and Travis, both of Spencer, IA; six grandchildren: Andrew, Payton, and Hannah Brower, Jeremy and Alisha Clarke, and Gavin Roghair; two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Olivia Clarke; stepchildren: Tim (Darci), Roxanne, and Todd; one sister, Della (Frank) Jeffrey of Spencer, IA; three brothers: Larry (Nancy) Woods of Spirit Lake, IA, Ronnie (Connee) Woods of Dickens, IA, and Brian (Carol) Woods of Spirit Lake, IA; one sister-in-law, Val Woods of Altoona, IA; ten nieces; five nephews; other relatives and many friends.
