David Allen Maske

Everyone is invited to attend a Memorial Lunch at noon Saturday at the Clay County Regional Events Center in Spencer. Please enter through the north door of the building. David Allan Maske, the son of Robert and Dorothy Rusho Maske, was born March 23, 1945 in Seattle, WA. His childhood years were spent in Peterson, Iowa, where he received his education, graduating from Sioux Valley Community School in 1963. He continued his education at the University of South Dakota, graduating in 1967. Dave married Kathleen Rosenow on September 11, 1965. Following their marriage, they lived a short time in Sioux City. In 1969, Dave, Kathy and Joel moved to Spencer where Dave became a partner in Ryun, Givens & Company. In 1973, the family moved back to Sioux City, where Dave worked for Williams and Company. From 1975 to 1985, Dave was a partner in Houlihan, Maske & Company. From 1985-1987, Dave worked in private practice in Sioux City at Maske & Company, before joining the firm of King, Reinsch & Prosser, and later became a partner there. Dave married Linda Beck Carpenter on August 3, 1992. Following their marriage, they lived in Hinton, Iowa for a short time before moving to the Milford area in 1993. Dave owned and operated his own CPA firm in Spencer from 1993 until the time of his death. Dave was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Green Bay Packer fan. He was also compassionate towards homeless and stray animals. Dave aided and assisted in rescuing and finding new homes for countless strays and orphaned creatures. He was instrumental in the establishment of People for Pets. Dave passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Monday, December 11, 2006 at the age of 61. His maternal and paternal grandparents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Linda of West Okoboji; 2 sons: Joel and his fianc�, Erin Larson of San Francisco, CA and Chris and his wife, Dawn of Spirit Lake, IA; one daughter, Janet and her husband, Chad Bobzien of Lincoln, NE; one stepson, Aaron Carpenter of Spencer; his parents, Robert and Dorothy Maske of Peterson, IA; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; three brothers: Billy and his wife, Carole Maske of Truro, IA, Danny Maske of Fort Collins, CO and Jody and his wife, Debra Maske of Newell, IA; his father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Dorothy Beck. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name at People for Pets of Spencer, IA.
SERVICES

Visitation will begin 1:00 p.m., Friday with the family present 5 - 7:00 Friday evening.
