David Lee Bringle

David Lee Bringle, the son of Louby and Cora Marie Hutton Bringle, was born March 25, 1937 in Estherville, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Estherville, where he received his education, graduating from Estherville High School. After his schooling he entered the military and served with the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge. He moved to Fort Dodge and later Marshalltown, where he was involved in carpet sales and installation. While in Fort Dodge, he married Barb Meyer in 1968, and to that union, Dan was born. David later moved to Spirit Lake, where he owned a small caf�. David married Janet Giese on August 25, 1990 in Spencer. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer, where he worked at Sid and Sam's as a salesman and Speidel Flooring until his retirement in 2007, due to his health. He loved to cook, and play music. David was in a band called, Dale and the Devonaires Band, which was inducted into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. David also enjoyed dancing, karaoke, visiting with people and spending time with his grandchildren. He has also been a member of the Moose Lodge since 1990. In his last years of failing health, his family was comforted by the care he received by the Vet's Clinic in Spirit Lake. David's family was at his side when he passed away at the Mercy Medical Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the age of 72. A special thank you to Dan, Brenda and Angie for all their support they gave David and the rest of the family. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Gilbert and an infant son. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janet of Spencer; a son, Daniel Bringle of Everly, IA; 3 grandchildren; three sisters: Betty Koos and her husband, Larry of Twin Lakes, IA, Janet Kollasch of Estherville, IA and Pat Stevens and her husband, Craig of Estherville, IA; one brother, Robert Bringle and his wife, Lonnie of Spirit Lake, IA; 3 step daughters: Brenda Adlund and her husband, Brett of Savannah, IL, Julie Stevens and her husband, Kelly of Primghar, IA and Valerie Rohwer and her husband, Dean of Sutherland, IA; two stepsons: Rick Giese and his wife, Mary and Bradley Giese and his wife, Bonnie all of Sutherland; 16 stepgrandchildren; 2 great-step grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
