David Lowell Morris

July 2, 1937 — October 28, 2015

David Lowell Morris passed away peacefully on October 28, 2015 at his home. He was born July 2, 1927 to Melvin and Emma (Hayes) Morris. Mr. Morris spent his childhood on the family farm outside of Welcome, MN. They were members of the local Methodist Church. Dave married Marlene Plumhoff in 1955 and lived in Round Lake, Welcome, Lakefield and Sherburn, MN where they raised six daughters. Dave was in the trucking industry; driving, dispatching, leasing and running his own trucking business was his livelihood for many years. He shared many interesting stories of his long distance trips and could tell you which highway routes to travel throughout the lower 48 states and even up to Alaska. He did the wheat run with some family and crew that ran combines from Texas up to Montana. Dave eventually settled in the Spencer area and married Linda Bisson on July 26, 2001. Together they renovated many homes in the community and developed Morris Estates with new construction. After moving to their acreage in Linn Grove, Dave began working with lambs to stay busy. He had battled cancer once before and won that battle for 15 years but this last battle took him to his heavenly home. Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Linda; six daughters: Brenda and Steve Martens of Nashville, TN, Cheryl Oelkers and Jim Koenecke of Dunnell, Kristine and Dale Studer of Phoenix, AZ, Theresa and Al Peterson of Trimont, MN, Lora and Duane Gantz of Antioch, IL and Kathy and Darren Schweiss of New Prague, MN; 3 step-children: Carol, Dave and Cheryl; sisters: Luella Palmer of Spokane, WA and Elaine Holland of Olathe, KS; brothers: Joseph and Lona and Kenneth and Mavis of Sherburn, MN; 18 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
