David M. Horan

December 3, 1957 — February 27, 2008

David M. Horan, the son of John and Dorothy Horan, was born December 3, 1957 in Omaha, NE. His childhood years were spent in Omaha, where he received his education graduating from Brian High School in Omaha in 1975. Following high school, he attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 1985 with a Masters Degree in Public Administration. Dave married Janet Johnson in Omaha, Nebraska in 1986. Following their marriage, they moved to Spencer, Iowa, and he began working in July of 1988 at Spencer, Iowa as Executive Director of the Northwest Iowa Planning. They moved to Hartley, Iowa in 2004 and he continued working at the Development Commission, until the time of his death. Dave passed away at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on February 27, 2008 after suffering a stroke on January 26 at the age of 50. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Thomas and Richard. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janet of Hartley; his three children: Samantha, age 18, Thomas, age 15 and David, Jr., age 9 all of Hartley; a brother, John and his wife, Sandy Horan of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Helen and her husband, Bob Knoblauch of Omaha, NE; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 10:30 A.M., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Omaha, NE. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, March 6, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hartley, Iowa.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin after 4:00 P.M., Monday, March 3, 2008 with a vigil service at 7:00 P.M., Monday Evening at the Bethany Funeral Home in Omaha, NE Visitation in Hartley, Iowa will take place one hour prior to the services at the church.

INTERMENT
In Omaha prior to the services.
