Deborah Ann Jenkins, was born on May 21, 1935, in Vicksburg, MI, to Cecil and Virginia (Forsythe) Southworth. Deb graduated from high school in Vicksburg and attended Western Michigan University with a major in business and a minor in music.
Deb married her high school sweetheart, Harold (Bud) Jenkins on February 3, 1956, and they made their home in Marshall, MI. They resided in Marshall until 1974, when they were transferred to Spencer with the Eaton Corporation.
She taught private piano while continuing her music education at Iowa Lakes Community College and the University of South Dakota. She also worked as a transcriptionist for the Avera Spencer Clinic, and was an organist for St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. Her greatest joys in life included music, spending time with her family and friends, and with Gus, her English Setter.
Deborah passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family, at the age of 82. She is preceded in death by her husband in 2009; one grandson, Stephen Spory in 2012; and one brother, John Southworth.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Lauri deTemmerman (Stephen) of Olewein, IA, Scott of Platte City, MO, and Lisa Baxter (Daren) of Spirit Lake, IA; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Dr. William Southworth (Darlene) of Ashland, OR; one sister, Mary VanderSchaaff (George) of Waterloo, Ontario; other relatives and friends.
