Delbert 'Dub' Lloyd Boyles

November 16, 1918 — February 29, 2012

Delbert "Dub" Lloyd Boyles, the son of Everett and Maude Twogood Boyles was born November 16, 1918 in Hartley, IA. His childhood years were spent in the Everly, IA area, where he graduated from Everly High School in 1938. Delbert joined the U.S. Army in 1941 and was with the Army Artillery until his honorable discharge in 1945. He married Muriel Roberts on February 27, 1946 in South Sioux City, NE. Dub worked as a parts man for International until his retirement in 1978, but continued to work there part time for over 35 years. Delbert was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Everly. He was a member of the American Legion, Everett Boyles Jr. Post #414 and was a past commander. Dub enjoyed camping and was a Boy Scouts leader for many years; he also was a member of the Everly Fire Department. Delbert passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the age of 93 at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Delbert Shannon Boyles; one sister, Donna Larson; 2 brothers, Judson Boyles and Everett Boyles Jr.; and an infant brother Robert Boyles. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Muriel; one son, Allen Boyles of Everly, IA; 4 grandchildren, Jodi Reed, Benjamin Boyles, DeDe Boyles and Jessie Boyles; one great-grandchild, Kaleigh; 2 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Boyles of Jackson, MN; 2 sisters, Mary Foxhoven of Arnolds Park, IA and Parma Lasche of Des Moines, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly.

Visitation will begin 3:00 P.M., Friday, March 2, with the family present from 6 to 8:00 P.M., Friday at the Warner Funeral Home in Everly.

Lone Tree Cemetery Everly, Iowa Military services will be conducted by American Legion Everett Boyles, Jr. Post #414 of Everly, Iowa following the graveside services.
