Delma Mae Mueller

Delma Mae Mueller, the daughter of Raymond and Viola Moeller Schoening, was born July 24, 1925 in Moneta, IA. Her childhood years were spent in the Sutherland area where she graduated from Sutherland High School in 1943. After graduating she attended AIB College in Des Moines, IA. Delma married Allen "Pete" Mueller on September 15, 1946 in Sutherland. She was a lifetime member of United Methodist Church in Sutherland, serving as a past president of the Methodist Women. She was a member of Good Cheer Chair Person and UMC Ladies Circle Bible Study. She was a post polio survivor, being diagnosed with the disease in her early 20's. She enjoyed farm animals, the farm life, and singing in the church choir, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Delma passed away at Sutherland Care Center in Sutherland, on October 13, 2012 at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, in 1988, a sister, Verla Stowater, and brother's-in-law, Don Ebel and Loren Stowater. Left to cherish her memory are her 2 children, Deb (Doug) Sickelka of Sutherland, IA and Mike (Glenda) Mueller of Iowa City, IA; 5 grandchildren, Chris (Bridget) and Cory Sickelka, Nate, Matt, and Joe Mueller; 2 great-grandchildren, Jordan and Sydney Sickelka; one sister, Jan Ebel of Sutherland, IA; other relatives and many friends.
