Delores Bessie Kilpatrick

Delores Bessie Kilpatrick, the daughter of Armon Lee and Bessie May Swinney, was born January 29, 1914, in Republic, MO. Her childhood years were spent in Green County, MO where she received her early education. As a freshman in High School, her family moved to Pomona, CA and she finished her schooling and graduated in 1932. Delores then moved to Mt. Vernon, MO where she worked as a nurse's aid at the State Sanatorium for a year. She then returned to California to attend Beauty School in Ontario, CA. On December 22, 1939, Delores married Russell Kilpatrick in Chicago, IL. Following their marriage, they traveled throughout the United States and over seas with Russell's job, living in several different cities. Mrs. Kilpatrick passed away on December 21, 2005 at the Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Russell on November 30, 1969; three brothers: Lee, Herbert and Joe; one sister, Maxine. Delores is survived by one sister, Mildred McGuffin of California; her caregivers, Kent and Lanette Kilpatrick, nephew and niece; along with several other nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
