Delores 'Dee' Faye Chamberlain

June 3, 1922 — June 30, 2016

A lifelong teacher, Delores was always teaching wherever she went. She was born at Walnut Grove, Minnesota, on Saturday, June 3, 1922, to Opal Oliver (Shoemaker) Miller and Carl Henry Miller. She graduated from Lanesboro High School in Lanesboro, Iowa, in 1940. On Saturday, December 26, 1942, Delores married Lawrence William Moulds from Lake City, Iowa. They farmed before and after he served in the Army Air Corp. While in the service, they lived in Austin, Texas. They had two sons, Larry Kent and Robert Dean. Lawrence passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 1949. Dee attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa and graduated in 1953. She taught several years in Storm Lake, Iowa. On Sunday, July 7, 1963, Dee married Lee Chamberlain at the Methodist Church in Storm Lake, Iowa. They lived on their farm outside of Langdon where they were members of Langdon United Methodist Church. Dee taught in Spencer until retiring in 1984. They enjoyed family, friends, traveling, Okoboji Summer Theater, watching sports, playing cards, growing flowers and feeding the birds and animals. They belonged to a dance club and were beautiful dancers together. They lived on the family farm until they moved into Spencer in the fall of 2013. Dee was active in the Langdon Methodist Church, serving on the Church Board and participating in the UMW group. Dee was a member of the Eastern Star, Questors, Progressive Club and ISEA. Dee sang at church and for other occasions; she loved to cook for you; and her beautifully contagious laugh made you want to join in. Dee is survived by her son, Robert Moulds and wife, Marlene of Easton, PA; daughter-in-law, Kathy Moulds and husband, Claude Bjork of Schaumburg, IL; son, Wayne Chamberlain and wife, Diane of Gladbrook, IA; and daughter, Sharon Babcock and husband, Charley of West Chester, PA; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
