Delores "Lorrie" Mae Huffman

Delores “Lorrie” Huffman, the daughter of Arthur and Eleanore (Hansen) Elder, was born January 30, 1932 in Terril, Iowa. She graduated from Spencer High School. She enjoyed working many years in grocery stores to include National Tea, Big D, Piggly Wiggly and SuperValu, retiring in 2002. Following retirement, she volunteered for the Spencer Hospital, worked at the Clay County Fair, and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Lorrie married Harry Huffman on March 2, 1952 in Jackson, Minnesota. In the 1960s, they settled in Spencer where she continued to live until her death on May 24, 2023 at age 91. Lorrie was an Iowa State fan, enjoyed word searches, was a ferocious book reader, and loved reading every page of the newspaper. She enjoyed listening to the Itty Bitty Boji Band and being a patron of the Okoboji Summer Theatre. She found enjoyment in having breakfast at the American Classic Cafe, watching birds, and having a good cup of coffee with a sweet treat.

Lorrie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry, two sisters Vivian Jamison and Ruth Siple, one brother Gilbert Elder, 2 grandchildren Katie Huffman and Andrew Huffman.

Lorrie is survived by her children, Mike (Lynn) Huffman of Spencer, IA, Barb (Scott) Teal of Liberty Township, OH, and her step-son, Dale (Christine) Huffman of Sun City West, AZ; 8 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a nephew Don Huffman of San Diego, CA; other family; and many friends.
