Denise Salton

Denise Ann Salton, the daughter of Wayne Everett and Doris Elkin Salton, was born February 14, 1962, in Spencer, Iowa. She received her education and graduated from South Clay in 1980. During her high school years, Denise enjoyed showing calves in 4-H. She continued her education at Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa, Spencer School of Business and then Iowa Lakes Community College where she graduated with a nursing degree. Following her schooling, Denise worked at Longhouse Residence, Hartley Memorial Community Center, and at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer. Denise chose nursing because she always had a passion to help others, especially the elderly. In her spare time, she liked making jewelry, selling Avon and volunteering at CAASA and Spencer Hospice. Denise especially loved spending time with her grandbabies. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Spencer, and Order Of The Eastern Star. Denise passed away on December 15, 2015, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN at the age of 53. She is preceded in death by her father and grandparents. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Kayla Salton-Koch and her husband, Jacob of Dawson, MN; two grandchildren: Parker Wayne Salton and Lucy Ann Koch; her mother, Doris Salton of Dickens, IA; two sisters: Bev (Norm) Dudziak of Dickens, IA and Nancy Salton of Milford, IA; her 2 nieces and 2 nephews; 8 great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
