Dennis Dean Davis

     Dennis Dean Davis, the son of Dale and June (Heinis) Davis, was born on September 21, 1945 in Cherokee, IA. He was raised in the Peterson. He attended Brooke rural school and then Aurelia High School, graduating in 1963. After high school Dennis entered into the military on May 31, 1963, serving in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged on December 7, 1971. He continued to serve in the Reserves for another 12 years.

     On February 17, 1968, Dennis married Theresa Goggio, in North Carolina. Following their marriage, they lived in Panama, while Dennis was still in the service, until 1971 when they moved back to Northwest Iowa. He then enrolled at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon and earned a degree in Mechanical Technology, and later taught Mechanical Technology at NWICC for several years. The couple lived in several communities in Iowa and spent one year in Wyoming. Dennis worked for different manufacturing companies throughout his career.

     Dennis, in his younger years, liked to ride his motorcycle, go hiking, kayaking and photography. He always really enjoyed spending his time rebuilding MG’s. He was a member of the American Legion in Peterson.

     Dennis passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale; and his sister, Karen Miller.

     Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Theresa of Spencer, IA; his son, Chris and wife, Rachelle of Navarre, FL and their two children: Haley and Alec; his daughter, Robin Davis of Spencer, IA; his mother, June of Spencer, IA; other relatives and many friends.
