Dennis Dean Simpson, the son of Donald and Mildred Spoo Simpson, was born December 23, 1949, at the Dickinson County Hospital in Spirit Lake, IA. His childhood years were spent on a farm east of Milford, IA, where he received his education, graduating from Arnolds Park High School in 1969.
Dennis married Louise Schoorman on June 2, 1973, at the Methodist Church in Everly, IA. Following their marriage, they moved to Spencer, IA, where he worked for the railroad from 1969 to 1977. In 1977, he began work as a machinist for Eaton Corporation where he worked until 2003. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in rural Spencer. Dennis enjoyed mowing, camping trips with his family, fishing and the outdoors, driving to Jackpot Junction and especially spending time with his family.
Dennis passed away at his home in Spencer, IA, on December 27, 2005, following a lengthy illness at the age of 56. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary Simpson.
He is survived by his wife, Louise, of Spencer, IA; two sons and their wives: Michael and Johanna Simpson of North Mankato, MN and Wesley and Amy Simpson of Spencer, IA; one daughter, Heather Simpson, and her special friend, Brad Kell, of Spencer, IA; three brothers: Roger Simpson and his wife, Sue, of Wahpeton, IA, David Simpson of Wahpeton, IA, and Jim Simpson and his wife, Joan, of Harwood, ND; five sisters: Charlene Lighter and her husband, Jay, of Milford, IA, Connie Karl of Milford, IA, Betty Spieker and her husband, Marvin, of Montgomery, IA, Deb Simpson of Milford, IA, and Judy Rohwer and her husband, Jerry, of Milford, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2005, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the Warner Funeral Home of Spencer, Iowa, with the family present 6 - 8:00 Thursday evening.
