Dennis 'Pat' Smith

Dennis Patrick Smith, the son of Vernon Kenneth and Evelyn May (Miller) Smith was born on January 1, 1947 in Spencer, Iowa. He was raised near Fostoria where he attended Summit #1 country school and then finished at Milford High School where he graduated. Pat married Nancy Mengelsen on July 23, 1965, at the United Methodist Church in Fostoria. Pat worked for many places throughout his life. He worked for the City of Spencer in the Sanitation Department and at the Ready Mix Plant here in Spencer. He then went into partnership with his father in his welding business in Fostoria. He worked at other various jobs before going to work for Morton Buildings. He also worked for the City of Fostoria at the same time. Pat liked to hunt and fish, build hot rods and put together model railroad trains. He passed away on December 25, 2015, at his home at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy in 2005 and one brother, Byron. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Shawn and his wife, Mary Ann of Fostoria, IA; 2 grandchildren: Austen and Logan both of Hartley; one sister, Maureen Blackburn and her husband, Steve of Lafayette, IN; other relatives and friends.
