Dennis R. Carlson, 54, of Granger, passed away at 2:30 pm, Friday, June 1, 2007. Dennis was born on February 9, 1953 in Primghar, Iowa to Arnold and Dorothy (Koch) Carlson. On June 12, 1976, he married the former Jane Roos. Denny is survived by his loving wife, Jane; two sons, Troy Carlson of Watervliet, MI and Chad Carlson of Granger; his mother, Dorothy Fischer of Hartley, Iowa; two brothers, Douglas (Sandra) Carlson of Orange City, Iowa and Steven (Donita) Carlson of Sutherland, Iowa; one sister, Deborah (David) Orthmann of Sutherland, Iowa and one half sister, Kimberly Fischer of Rock Valley, Iowa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, who passed in 1971. Denny graduated from Paullina High School, Paullina, Iowa. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Westmar College, LeMars, Iowa with a BA in Business Administration and Education. He worked as a Store Manager for Wal-Mart for the past 23 years and opened many new stores across the nation. He was a member of Clay United Methodist Church, South Bend. Denny was an organ donor.
SERVICES
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Monday, June 4, 2007 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 5, 2007 in Clay United Methodist Church, 17646 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Rev. Kim Bloom will officiate. Services in Iowa will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 8, 2007, at the United Methodist Church in Sutherland, IA.
