Dennis Ray Miles, the son of Frank and June (O'Clair), was born on March 27, 1950, in Dickens, IA. He was raised and received his early education there. On March 8, 1971 he entered into the military serving in the United States Air Force. While in the military he received the rank of Sgt. He was honorably discharged on March 10, 1978.
Dennis relocated to Oklahoma after the military and stayed there until his mother got sick and moved back to Dickens. He then moved to Spencer and started working for Kardell Trucking, Don Heiter and then for Bob Morisch. Due to failing health he had to retire early. In his retirement he drove a wrecker at the car races in Jackson, Algona, Mason City and at the Clay County Fair. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, his favorite drivers were Dale Jarrett and Tony Stewart. He also enjoyed fishing and bowling.
Dennis passed away on November 2, 2015 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley, at the age of 65. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one niece.
Left to cherish his memory are his companion, Doreen Findley of Spencer, one daughter, Christine Miles and a son, Bobby Miles both of Oklahoma, 2 sisters: Mary Kladstrup of Spencer and Tammy Pruddt of Louisville, KY; a niece, Heather Buck and a nephew, Brian Kladstrup both of Boaz, AL; other relatives and friends.
