Diana Faye Walvoord was born April 25, 1948 in Primghar, IA., to T. Lee and Leone (Iblings) Manley. Diana graduated from Hartley High School in 1966 and then attended cosmetology school in Cedar Rapids. She took great pride in looking nice. Diana won the “Miss Hartley” competition while in high school. In 1966 Diana married Jon B. Walvoord. When they were first married Jon was in the military and they lived in California for a few years. They had three children and later divorced. Diana resided in Spencer over 50 years and later had a 25 year relationship with her significant other Ralph Kabrick of Spencer. Diana had her own business, “Annie’s Alterations”, in which she did clothing alterations for the Squire Shoppe and also for customers while working at Center Cleaners when it was located in the Southpark Mall and thoroughly enjoyed visiting with the customers. She was a great seamstress and later operated “Annie’s Alterations” for a number of years out of her home. Doing alterations was a great service she provided to many customers who appreciated her sewing talents. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Diana had a “sweet tooth” and always had “sweet treats” on hand not only for herself but to share with others. Diana passed away November 27, 2021 at Aspire Nursing Home, Primghar, IA.
Diana is survived by her three children: Felecia (Scott) Kloewer of Spencer; Jon (Jodi) Walvoord of West Des Moines; Rachel Walvoord of Spencer. Grandchildren: Bryan Ibsen, Brittany Ibsen (Tanner Logan), Keegan (Morgan) Kloewer, Mak (Briana) Kloewer, Livia Walvoord, Cooper Walvoord, Storm Walvoord. Great grandchildren: Lana Logan and Bechham Kloewer; One brother, Tom (Jan) Manley of Spirit Lake; one sister, Alice (Randy) Roghair of Royal. A host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Karen Manley and significant other Ralph Kabrick.
