Diane Joan Toebes

Diane Joan Toebes, the daughter of Alvin and Katherine Travis Hildenbrand, was born January 9, 1943 in Chicago, IL. When she was 14 years old, the family moved to Oak Park, IL where she received her education and graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School. On April 8, 1961, she met Ben Toebes at the Chateau Lane Bowling alley while bowling next to each other and they were married on April 9, 1962 in Chicago, IL. To this union, three boys were born. In 1989, they moved to Spencer, Iowa. She worked at White Drug and then Northwest Federal until she retired at the age of 58. In her spare time, Diane enjoyed reading, vacationing and spending time with her family. Diane passed away on May 11, 2014, at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 71. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Ben of Spencer; her three sons: Bill and wife, Marie, Bob and Ben Jr. and wife, Pamela; 5 grandchildren: Bobby and wife, Jessica, Michael, Ronnie, Timmy and Allie; one great granddaughter, Katie; sister, Kathy and brother, Dale; other relatives and friends.
