Dick A. Mcclaren

Dick A. McClaren, the son of Basil and Maxine (Billings) McClaren was born in Cherokee, IA on July 11, 1964. His childhood years were spent in the Cherokee area where he attended Cherokee High School. Dick enlisted in the U.S. Army until his Honorable Discharge. Afterwards he moved to Des Moines, IA where he had a daughter Alex. He then moved to Sutherland, IA where he worked for Schoons Construction and Excavating. He married Jennifer Sibbel in Cherokee, IA on October 18, 2014. Dick enjoyed golfing, being an Assistant Captain Fireman with the Sutherland Fire Department, playing scratch tickets and going to the casino. He loved spending time with friends and especially his family. Dick passed away at the St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, IA on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the age of 51. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Rick and Jim. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jenna; one daughter, Alex Martin of Ames, IA; 2 stepdaughters, Stephanie Hutchison of Sioux City, IA and Holly Hutchison of Sutherland, IA; 4 brothers: Bob (Pam) McClaren of Virginia Beach, VA, Don (Mary) McClaren of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Gary (Linda) McClaren of Sutherland, IA, and Mike McClaren of Sutherland, IA; 2 sisters: Neva (Rick) Nolan of Marco Island, FL and Linda (Don) Terrell of Longmont, CO; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sutherland Fire Department or June E. Nylen Cancer Center in Sioux City, IA.
