Dixie Rae Norgaard

September 27, 1988 — December 22, 2008

Dixie Rae Norgaard, the daughter of Todd E. and Tricia (Arndt) Norgaard, was born September 27, 1988, in Spencer, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Dickens, IA. She attended preschool through 6th grade at South Clay Community School, and continued her schooling in Spencer for three years where she played junior high football. She then attended Ruthven-Ayrshire High School where she enjoyed cheerleading, graduating in 2007. Following graduation Dixie was blessed with a son, Brock Michael Norgaard. She was presently working as a waitress/cook at Lindy's Steakhouse in Dickens while pursuing her dream of a career in photography. Dixie loved the outdoors, dancing, and traveling. She had open eyes and wanted to see all parts of the world, both good and bad, to gain an appreciation for people of all walks of life. She had an infectious bubbly personality that drew people to her. She was a loved friend that would help anyone in need. She loved animals and would help any lost or injured animal she could find. Most of all she loved being close to her family, especially her son, Brock, who she loved more than anything. On December 22, 2008, Dixie passed away suddenly due to an automobile accident at the age of 20. She was preceded in death by her grandma, Peggy Gale Arndt. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Brock Michael Norgaard of Dickens, IA; her parents, Todd E. and Tricia Norgaard of Dickens, IA; three sisters: Jessie Lynn and Alfonso Vaquero Mendez of Dickens, IA, Amy Jean Norgaard of Ruthven, IA, and Nicole Lynn Norgaard of Dickens, IA; grandparents, Gary Arndt of Dickens, IA, and Alvin and Donna Norgaard of Spencer, IA; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and many friends.
