Dolores 'Dee' Elaine O'Connor, the daughter of John Elmer and Lillian Degner Disch, was born February 9, 1935 in Sioux City, Iowa. It was there that she received her education and graduated from Central High School. Dee then began working for Bell Telephone Company as a supervisor.
On September 8, 1956, Dee married Charles Anthony O'Connor in Sioux City, IA. Following their marriage, they lived in Sioux City, Sioux Falls and then moved to Spencer. Dee worked for many years at Longhouse Residence in the Activities Department. In her spare time, Dee enjoyed reading, music, the arts, cooking, socializing with her friends and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed volunteering at Johnson and Fairview Elementary Schools helping the first graders with reading.
Dee passed away on June 18, 2012 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 77. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Chuck on January 21, 1990.
She is survived by her longtime companion, Bill Brennan of Spencer; children: Dave (Karen) O'Connor and family: Chrissy, Jackie, Fran & Dan; Julie (John) Izard and family: Kelly & Carly; Pat (Frank) Rottinghaus and family: Anne (Richard) Conrad & Henry; Libby (Rustin) Nelson & Emmett; Michelle (Tim) Nensel and family: Michael (Jessica) Nensel, Katelyn & Brayden; Daniel (Shelby) Nensel & Quinn; Melissa Nensel & fianc�, Brent Pyle; Billy (Sue) Brennan; her twin sister, Doris Disch of Stockton, CA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
