Donald Andrew Edwardson

Donald Andrew Edwardson was born February 20, 1936, in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, to Carl and Julia (Wilbur) Edwardson. He attended and graduated from the Sioux Rapids schools in 1955. Don spent his entire life in the Sioux Rapids area farming and raising purebred Hampshire pigs. He exhibited Hamps at the Clay County Fair for nearly 40 years. After he left the pig business, he became a draft horse enthusiast and purchased his first team of draft horses. He was also employed by the Spencer Pack for many years. He loved field work, showing pigs, sharing his draft horses and telling great stories. In later years, he enjoyed talking to friends and family on the phone. His first concern was always for the well-being of his family. Don died Tuesday, December 11, 2013, at the Longhouse Care Center in Spencer, IA, at the age of 77. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Doris (Lameris) Lindlief. He is survived by two daughters, Natalie Knudsen and husband Paul of Hartsville, TN, Tina Brown and significant other Neal of Spencer, IA, and their mother Linda of Spencer, IA. One sister, Darlene (Larry) Spiess of Alta, IA, and three brothers Dennis and friend Lynda of Sioux Rapids, IA, David and Elaine of Ringsted, IA, and Douglas of Elk Point, SD; grandchildren Melodie Bolin of Nashville, TN, Dr. Kayla L. Scheuer, Capt. USAF and her husband Adam of Omaha, NE, Dane Knudsen of Hartsville, TN, Justin Brown and fianc� Beth of Spencer, IA; and three great grandchildren Charlotte Scheuer, Sydney Larson and Savannah Brown.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
