Donald Monroe Heiter, Jr.

     Donald Heiter, Jr., the son of Donald and Maxine (Wilcox) Heiter, was born September 26, 1944 in Humboldt, IA.  His childhood years were spent in Spencer, where he received his education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1963.  He attended CE School of Commerce in Omaha, NE for one year.  In 1965, he enlisted in the USAF and was honorably discharged in June of 1971.  He worked at Case Power & Equipment and Halsne, Inc. until November 1988, when he continued with his father’s trucking company which grew to Heiter Truck Line, Inc.  Don retired in December 2011, and his two sons took over the business.

     Don married Linda Pearson Gonnerman on November 14, 1988.  Don was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and The American Legion Glen Pedersen Post #1. Don and Linda enjoyed watching the grandchildren in sports, winters in South Padre Island, Texas, bowling, golf and of course casinos!

     Don passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the age of 73.  He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Ronnie and father-in-law, Allen Pearson.

     Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda of Spencer; children: Jeff (Mindy) Heiter of Spencer and Mike (Gina) Heiter of Spencer; Michelle Heiter, Kristin (Tim) Heikens of Lake Park, IA, Krystie (Tim) Brashear of Estherville, IA, Jodi (Matt) Johnson of Windsor, CO and Debbie Gonnerman of Estherville, IA; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild; sisters: Barb (Jack) Greene of Sergeant Bluff, IA and Linda (Mike) Trieweiler of Spencer; his mother-in-law, Joyce Pearson of Hartley, IA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jan and Jim Slauter of Orlando, FL and Denny and Lanette Pearson of Hartley, IA; other relatives and many, many friends.
