Donald Burdette Munger Jr., the son of Donald and Doris (Nielson-Dalby) Munger Sr., was born April 1, 1950, in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent on a farm near Peterson, IA. He attended and graduated from Sioux Valley Community School in 1968.
Following graduation, Don joined the Army until his honorable discharge. He then worked in construction as well as farming and painting.
On April 17, 1973, Don suffered a work-related accident that resulted in multiple fractures to his spinal column. Don advocated extensively for disability access and disability services throughout the area. He was responsible for numerous improvements to Mankato's access for people with disabilities, and one that includes tireless efforts to raise awareness.
In his free time Don enjoyed campaigning for candidates for election. He was a caring, good hearted, and positive person who loved his family and friends.
