Doris Rae Stamper, the daughter of Ray Landing and Louise Burns (Stone) Cahal, was born on November 16, 1925, in Paris, Kentucky. She was raised and received her early education in Loveland, Ohio, graduating from high school there.
Doris married Eugene Edward Stamper on June 1, 1946 in Ohio. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Huntington, IN. During their marriage they lived in the communities of Garden Grove, CA, Omaha, NE and Spencer. Doris loved being a homemaker and raising her family. On January 30, 1986, Eugene passed away in Garden Grove and then Doris moved back to Spencer to be closer to her children.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, cooking and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
On July 13, 2010, Doris passed away at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Bill Cahal.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jim Stamper and his wife, Chris of Princeton, IN, Tom Stamper and his wife, Teresa of Fremont, NE, Tammy Freeman and her husband, Larry of Spencer, IA, Tim Stamper of Spencer, IA and Bob Stamper and his wife, Jana of Spencer, IA; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Cahal of OH; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00A.M., Friday, July 16, 2010, at the Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.
