Dorothy Delores Hinton

Dorothy Delores Hinton, the daughter of Clarence and Vera (Blankenship) Waddell, was born June 25, 1924 in Woolstock, Iowa.  Her childhood years were spent in Hampton, Iowa, where she received her education, graduating from Hampton High School.

     Dorothy married Robert Hinton on February 22, 1947 in Hampton, Iowa.  After their marriage, they lived in the communities of Iowa Falls and Emmetsburg, Iowa until moving to Spencer, Iowa in 1959.  She worked as a nurses aide at Longhouse Residence in Spencer for 30 years.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.  She also enjoyed crocheting over the years. Dorothy and her husband, Robert enjoyed 70 years together before his death in 2017.

     She passed away at Northshire Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Monday, December 2, 2019 at the age of 95.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; one daughter, Linda Hinton; a sister, Arlene Meyer and a brother, Lyle Waddell.

      Left to cherish her memory are her children: Vickie (Richard) Radtke of Owattona, MN, Mark (Cindi) Hinton of Spencer, IA and Laurie (Dean) Gabhart of Sioux Center, IA; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; other relatives and many friends.
