Dorothy Deloris Ferwerda

June 20, 1925 — August 25, 2006

Dorothy's family would like to invite all in attendance to join them for cake and coffee in the Fellowship Hall at the First Congregational Church immediately following the services. Dorothy Deloris Ferwerda, the daughter of Emil and Julia Faye Payne Balvin, was born June 20, 1925 in Springfield, South Dakota. Her childhood years were spent in Springfield where she received her education and graduated from the Springfield High School. On August 15, 1948, Dorothy married Gene Ferwerda in Springfield, South Dakota. While living in Spencer, Dorothy worked at the Camera Shop and Browns Shoe Fit. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Spencer. Dorothy passed away on August 25, 2006 at Northshire Residence in Spencer, Iowa at the age of 81. She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister Joyce Halsey and one brother, Don Balvin. She is survived by her husband, Gene Ferwerda of Spencer; three daughters: Amy Ferwerda of West Des Moines, IA, Annette Ferwerda and Julie Ferwerda both of Cocoa Beach, Florida; other relatives and friends.

SERVICES

Memorial Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer, Iowa.

VISITATION

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. Cake and coffee will be served at the Fellowship Hall at the Congregational Church in Spencer immediately following the services at the church.
