Dorothy Knudson

Dorothy Jean Knudson, the daughter of Emmett and Bertha (Kruckman) Williams, was born April 13, 1929 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in the Rembrandt, Iowa area, where she received her education, graduating from Rembrandt High School. Dorothy married William "Bill" Arthur Knudson on May 18, 1963 in Luverne, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer, Iowa, where she worked at several different restaurants over the years and sold Avon products for over 20 years. She also worked cleaning houses, ironing and babysitting for several families in the Spencer area. Dorothy was a past member of the Eagle's and loved to dance to big band music. Mrs. Knudson passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the age of 78. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William "Bill" on February 27, 1988; a brother-in-law, Gaylen "Doc" Prather and a nephew, Gaylen "Pee Wee" Prather. She is survived by a daughter, Candace Slawson of Spencer; two grandsons: Bryan Momsen and his wife, Amy of Phoenix, AZ and Christian Slawson of Clarinda, IA; a brother, Jr. Williams and his wife Joan of Spencer; a sister Janice Prather of LaGrange, MO; three great granddaughters: Hanna, Yāzmine and Dezerrā; two nieces: Deb Sundall of Ruthven, IA and Kelly Dodds of Quincy, IL; a nephew, Mike Williams of Spencer; other relatives and many treasured friends.
