Dorothy Mae Meehlhause

Dorothy Mae Meehlhause, the daughter of John and Ella Helen Wiese Trojahn, was born January 9, 1926, in Moneta, IA. She attended the first 8 grades in the Moneta Consolidated School, riding the bus everyday. She was baptized at the Moneta United Methodist Church by Pastor Tomkins from Spencer, IA. She attended Sunday school and church faithfully. Dorothy married Elmer Meehlhause on November 18, 1944, in Council Bluffs, IA. They lived all their married life in Spencer. To this union was born one son, Gary Lee. Elmer passed away August 21, 1964. Dorothy and Gary moved to California in 1966. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, babysitting at the church, playing cards and spending time with her family. Dorothy passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Thursday, January 15, 2009, at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; three sisters: Velma Mullins, Leota Aldrich, Ruth Ann Petty; and her brothers-in-law: Ray Mullins, Byron Aldrich, Ray Roberts and Jack Petty. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Gary and his wife, Kim of Mounds View, MN; two grandchildren: Kellie Lynn of Manhattan, KS and Michael Scott of Bemidji, MN; two sisters: Evelyn Roberts of Spencer, IA, and June Rose Bruns and husband, Irel of Spirit Lake, IA; three brothers: Orlin and Diane Trojahn of Terril, IA, Marvin and Lois Trojahn of Moneta, IA, and Allen and Joyce Trojahn of Spencer, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley.

Visitation will begin 4:30 P.M., Friday with the family present from 7 to 8:30 P.M., Friday Evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Hartley.
