A Tribute to our Mom
Much could be said or written about Mom's many qualities and contributions. She set a wonderful example and had a profound, positive influence on her children and many others. The following are some of Mom's strengths that stand out and helped define her as a person.
She was even tempered and did not overreact to situations. She could certainly be firm when she needed to be, but she was always very rational and under control and never moody. She was an excellent parent, never gave advice to her children unless she was asked, and she never tried to run our lives or live vicariously through us.
She treated her parents with the utmost respect, which modeled how adult children treat their parents into old age. She reaped the benefits when her own adult children treated her similarly as a result of her positive example. She continued to show that same concern for her family even while she was in the nursing home.
Her faith was evident by the way she lived her life day-to-day, in her relationships, and in her christian approach. She never missed church, and was very active in serving her Lord through the church.
She was a wonderful matriarch. Family was always number one and her love for all her family was evident. She continued to be a role model of how to live life, how to remain optimistic in the face of adversity, and how to leave this world with dignity and peace. We will miss her very much.
