Dorothy Schurmann

May 17, 1925 — January 26, 2015

Dorothy O. Jantz Schurmann, was born May 17, 1925 to Adolph and Susie Koehn Jantz in Larned, Kansas. She passed away January 26, 2015 in Spencer, Iowa. On August 18, 1946, she married Cliff Schurmann of Graettinger, Iowa. She is survived by her children, David Schurmann and wife, Sue of Barrington, IL and Suzanne Wandell and husband, Tim of Norwalk, IA. She also is survived by six grandchildren: Jill Bates and husband, Sean of Apex, NC, Michael Schurmann of Carrboro, NC, Sara Hildebrand of Durango, CO, Annie Kay and husband, Jim of Phoenix, AZ, Tara Eckert and husband, Bill of McHenry, IL and Benjamin Von Feldt of East Troy, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband Cliff, her parents and a twin sister, Dorrace, and a brother Merle. After moving to Spencer in 1946, she was a homemaker and worked in the Spencer School system for 20 years. She was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Spencer serving on committees and in numerous ways. She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's activities. She also enjoyed sewing, bridge and her friends. Dorothy will be sorely missed by all her loved ones, coffee groups, and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Warner Chapel in Spencer.
